Educators Legal Liability
Educators Legal Liability (ELL) Insurance provides protection for schools, administrators, teachers, board members, and other educational professionals against claims arising from decisions or actions made in the course of their educational duties.
This coverage is designed to safeguard Public and Private K-12 Schools, Charter Schools, Colleges, Universities, and other educational institutions from liabilities that could result in costly legal fees and settlements. It ensures that institutions and their personnel are financially protected so they can remain focused on their mission to educate and serve their communities.
Educators Legal Liability Insurance typically responds to claims involving:
- Wrongful Acts: Actual or alleged acts, errors, omissions, misstatements, misleading statements, or breaches of duty committed in the performance of educational duties.
- Employment Practices: Wrongful termination, harassment, hostile work environment, discrimination, failure to promote, breach of employee manuals or policies, libel, slander, humiliation, or mental anguish.
- Reimbursement of Defense Expenses: Costs incurred for claims arising under IEP Acts, Collective Bargaining Acts, or Student Program Acts.
- Third-Party Wrongful Acts: Alleged harassment, discrimination, or invasion of privacy claims made by business invitees or third parties interacting with insured individuals while conducting official business.
- Non-Monetary Relief: Costs of complying with injunctive, declaratory, or equitable relief, including compliance with ADA or similar federal, state, or local laws.
- Failure to Educate or Violation of Students’ Rights: Including alleged civil rights violations or failure to provide appropriate educational services.

If a suit is ultimately filed, the Insured can feel at ease knowing a highly capable legal team is determined to provide them with the best possible resolution.
