This coverage is designed to help safeguard counties, municipalities, special service districts, and other governmental entities, along with their elected and appointed officials, employees, and volunteers, from the cost of defending and settling lawsuits.
Public Officials Liability Insurance typically responds to claims involving:
- Wrongful Acts: Acts, errors, omissions, misstatements and misleading statements, or neglect in duties
- Employment Practices: Dthe performance of officialiscrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and failure to promote, hostile work environment and retaliation
- Third Party Liability: Harassment (including sexual harassment), discrimination, or invasion of privacy alleged against an Insured by your Business Invitee
- Civil Rights Violations: Violation of civil rights protected under 42 USC 1981 et seq, or any other similar federal, state or local law
